Time Travel Xinjiang

I was lucky to be sent to Urumqi, capital city of China’s largest and westernmost province, Xinjiang, a few summers ago as a volunteer on a charity mission. The hospital was a cultural and linguistic swirl: most of the patients and their families were not ethnically Chinese and few spoke Mandarin.
