Thanks to Wikileaks we can all now peruse the memo of April Glaspie’s infamous meet with Saddam Hussein in July of 1990.  It’s a pretty standard memo which makes it clear that Glaspie did not “greenlight” any invasion.  Glaspie was, however, fuzzy about the US Government’s intentions while being suckered by Saddam on his (the break in which his translator and notetaker break down and cry over widows and orphans is a nicely-crafted piece …
