Explosions Rock Boston Marathon

Two people were killed – including an 8-year-old boy – and at least 100 were injured as two bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, today.
The attack occurred without warning, and the devices appear to have been planted in the spectator section. Boston Police have no information on who was responsible at this point, but they are not ruling this out as an act of terrorism. …

Boyan Slat envisions a system of plastic boons tied between floating processing platforms that would sort the plastic from plankton and retrieve it for recycling. The system would be set up around some of the World’s largest garbage patches.

- Syrian State TV is reporting that chemical weapons were used by the Syrian rebels in a firefight in Khan al-Asal. Rebels are accusing the government of having used the weapons. 25 people are reported dead, with scores more injured. If this proves to be true, it could severely affect support for the rebels from the International community.

A deal has been struck to regulate the press in Britain by the three major parties, following the phone-hacking scandal. No comment yet from the press.
